Arcadia Antiques & Decorative Arts, Inc. has specialized in fine period antiques, unique lighting, and exceptional decorative arts for over a decade. Our solid and professional reputation has been built on our high standard of excellence and wealth of knowledge; our merchandise has appeared in the American as well as Italian imprint of Architectural Digest, Canadian House and Home, Style at Home, Better Homes and Gardens, Decormag (Quebec), and Enroute Magazine.
Although we are known for our emphasis on English furniture from the Georgian and Recency periods, we always have an eclectic mix of the interesting and the whimsical; a great antique store is not dissimilar to a great home - both have a cohesive look brought together by an expert eye. Robert Pobi, the owner of Arcadia, travels extensively in search of the unusual and the alluring for his clients. Arcadia is not just a superb antique store; it is an experience - one that you are not likely to forget.
Complimenting our exquisite period furniture is a unique selection of lighting - both chandeliers and table lamps: Empire candelabra, Japanese Meiji period mixed-metal vase lamps, Samson porcelain armorial urns, French marble and ormulu casolettes, English slate and bronze garniture lamps and French bouillottes are always on display. Arcadia fully restores each piece, the crowning touch being one of our custom handmade shades in silk or parchment.
We love antique boxes. As does everyone. Which is why you will always find dozens of period boxes of all sizes, shapes, and uses in stock at any given moment; from George III lap desks to William IV tea caddies. It is unlikely that you will go home without one.
If you need your treasures delivered - either locally or across the globe - our experienced staff will ensure that your purchase arrives in perfect condition - whether it is a small bronze letter opener or a pair of massive 19th Century Regency bookcases. Located in Montreal, just six hours north of New York City and five hours East of Toronto - we are an afternoon car-ride away from anywhere in the Northeast.
Please take some time to browse our site and do not forget to bookmark us; our merchandise changes on a daily basis and you never know what you will find here. For any questions regarding pricing, shipping, or additional information on one of our pieces, please contact us.
Even though we work very hard to bring you a comprehensive website, the experience of entering our bricks and mortar store is a true pleasure. Please visit us in person - it is an event that you will not likely forget.
Sincerely,
Robert Pobi
